About Open Door
I first learned about Open Door Baptist Church in the early 90's. I was part of a music group that came one Sunday night. I never in my wildest dreams thought that one day I would be the pastor of the church I was singing at that night.
Since that night, I have learned a lot about Open Door Baptist Church. A lot about it's history, and a lot about it's people. Churches have their ups and downs just like people do. That is only natural since the church is made up of people who shall we say, are sometimes very different from one another. I have seen this church struggle from time to time (which church hasn't) but I have seen something here I have not seen at a lot of churches I know of....the providence of God. By that I mean even when people have forgotten what the purpose of the church is about, God by His mercy and grace has continued to sustain us and not take let us die. Everyday I hear of church splits, people getting upset over one thing or another, or even churches closing their doors. All these things divide the body of Christ but still the church goes on. Still the Word of God gets preached, received, and lives changed at churches that remain faithful to Christ, like Open Door.
I am blessed that God would call me to serve Him as the pastor of Open Door Baptist Church. I love these people with a love that could have only come supernaturally from God Himself. And their love for me has to have come the same way. We are sinners saved by grace, brought together to bring honor and glory to God as we love one another.
I invite you to see for yourself Open Door Baptist Church. We are not here to impress you, and we probably won't. But here is what we will do. We are here to love you and to invite you to live Christ centered life with us. We need each each other. I look forward to meeting you soon. Karl Roten
